If you watch TLC, chances are, you've seen a commercial for Miss America: Reality Check.

What is the purpose of this show?

TLC thinks they can change how the Miss America pageant is viewed. They want the contestants to be natural, toned down, but still beautiful. The 52 contestants of this show complete tasks and challenges, like a balancing act on a balance beam, finding their state flag (Miss Pennsylvania couldn't find hers.) , and putting a twist on that simple black dress- giving the black dress heir own unique styles.

Will TLC's show make a difference in the pageant?

Will the 52 contestants stand out? Make a difference? Did they actually learn something while on the short-lived series?
The headline on TLC's website says "52 beauty queens. 1 house. 4 short weeks to forget everything they've learned." It's pretty ridiculous, but the house only has 7 showers for 52 contestants. What a nightmare!

The Host of the Show

Michael Urie, who plays Marc St. James on ABC's hit show, Ugly Betty, is the host. Michael worked in on and off Broadway shows, and acted in Shakespearian plays such as A Mid Summer Night's Dream, Love's Labors Lost , and Othello.

Celebrity Consultants

Miss America: Reality Check has numerous celebrity consultants (or judges). The judges are Michael Urie, Mark Liddell, Dina Sansing, Jeannie Mai, Stacy London, Clinton Kelly, Lauren Nelson (Miss America 2007), Napoleon Perdis, Kim Vo, Fred Tallaksen, and Randolph Duke. The judges specialize in many things, such as makeup, hairstylists, clothing consultants, designers, and their acting abilities.

Who Will Win?

Who do you think will win? You can actually participate in the voting results- instead of having the judges pick the contestants! To vote, click on this link http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/miss-america/contestants.html, next, roll over the map and click on the state you win.

Don't forget to watch Miss America: Reality Check. It's interesting to see what the girls go through, and how they change. The last episode of the series is on tonight at 10pm. The previous episodes will be on tomorrow, right before the Miss America pageant airs.
