The Neverland Rancheros to Play at AWA's Spring Breakout '08 in Racine, WI

On March 29^th, the American Wrestling Association and Wrestling Superstars LIVE! will welcome professional wrestling fans to Spring Breakout '08 at the Racine Civic Center in Racine, Wisconsin.

The high-profile event will feature an appearance by the legendary Honky Tonk Man, who held 14 different titles-including the WWE Intercontinental Championship-during the course of his career. The main event scheduled for Spring Breakout is a showdown between reality television personalities: Howie Gordon from the popular CBS series Big Brother is set to take on Aaron Aguilera, a host on CMT's Trick my Trucker.

The event will also feature live music by Upper Michigan rock band The Neverland Rancheros. Jon S., an executive producer for Spring Breakout,says he was drawn to the Houghton-based band because their music "sounds like it's off an 80's high school movie soundtrack.

This announcement comes as an exhilarating surprise to fans of The Neverland Rancheros, as the group had formally announced its disbandment in September of 2007.

"The Rancheros broke up because I decided to move to the Virgin Islands," explains Leo Siren, an Ontonagon, Michigan native who plays guitar for The Neverland Rancheros. "To make a long story short, I ended up in Wisconsin instead. But it's pretty much the same thing."

The Neverland Rancheros' official biography describes their aggressive-yet-catchy music as "sharkattack rock," "partycore," and "the sonic equivalent of Indiana Jones and The Fonz racing speedboats down a river of molten lava." Rancheros front-man Mark Andrasko (a resident of Houghton) simply describes the band's reunion as "sweet."

Prior to their short disbandment, The Neverland Rancheros had enjoyed local prosperity with successful gigs at the Uphill 41 in Hancock and Roxey's Lounge in Ontonagon.
