Review: Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy Lip Gloss

I don't wear a lot of color on my lips, but I do keep some sort of moisturizer on my lips all the time. I wanted a change of pace and decided to experiment with some subtle color and shine. I do not like for my lips to be so bold or shiny that they seem to enter a room before I do! A lot of women can pull that look off but I'm not one of them.

I'm trying several different kinds, but the one I'll write about today is Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy in the Sugar Plum shade.

Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy is allergy tested and is 100% fragrance free, both good things in my opinion. It comes in a .47 fl oz clear plastic tube with a screw off cap. The applicator end of the tube has a slanted tip for easier application. I found it a bit hard to squeeze out the right amount of gloss without getting too much on the tip - too much on the tip means the gloss ends up gooping up around the grooves and edges of the cap when you put it back on. That's one of my pet peeves.

One thing I'll comment on because I haven't noticed this with a some other lip gloss products ... but with this one if you want the shade to be a darker color, just put a thicker coat of gloss on. If you want a light shade, don't use as much gloss.

Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy lip gloss did not get sticky or tacky on my lips like some other products I've tried. Although I have to say my lips did feel a little heavy and caked up, even when using a light coating of gloss. I was pleasantly surprised that my lips did stayed a lot more moist for longer than I expected that they would ... usually I have to use a moisturizer of some sort along with any lipstick or gloss, as I have very dry lips.

I like the shine and gloss of this product ... it was just shiny enough to look a bit sexy but not so shiny that I looked like a porn star. LOL.

This lip gloss stays shiny and glossy and does not run or bleed off the lips, as long as you don't drink anything. The minute you drink anything, it will rub off on the container you drink out of, it will also rub off on clothing so be careful when kissing & hugging hubby goodbye of a morning!
