Where did you meet your ex-fiance?

Dee: I met him while working at the county jail. I was a nurse there and he was an inmate.

What made you want to get involved with this person?

Dee: It started innocently enough. He was a diabetic. He used to have to come to diabetic clinic 4 times a day. I saw him a lot.

What is diabetic clinic?

Dee: All the diabetic inmates come to the medical department to get their blood sugar checked and to take their insulin.

Isn't that a controlled environment?

Dee: There is a deputy escort there, but they don't always pay attention. Just like on the floors of the jail. They are often talking to each other, or playing video games on the floor they're assigned to watch.

Were you attracted to this inmate?

Dee: No, not at first. You know, he was an inmate. I had worked in jails before - all the men ask you to write, even when they're married or have girlfriends out in the world, they always ask. It's a constant game for them and "every girl is a queen in the jails and prisons". It's like a badge of honor to get one of the female staff members to smile at them or make contact. I think that my personality gets me into trouble sometimes.

How did this all start?
