Have you ever wondered why the characters of Grey's Anatomy acted the way they did?

DISCLAIMER: This article may contain spoilers.

Meredith Grey

Why does Meredith act so childish? Why can't she commit to a relationship with Derek? Does her childhood have anything to do with it? Why can't Meredith get along with her step-sister, Lexi?

Meredith is an immature woman who can't commit to a serious (or any) relationship. Why can't she commit? It may have to do with her up bringing, or the way her parents treated her. As far as we know, Meredith's mother always put her career as a doctor, first. She never took the time to do anything with Meredith, making Meredith resent her mother. Meredith's father, on the other hand, walked out on her family when she was very young, and started a family of his own.
Meredith also dislikes her step-family.

Meredith dislikes her father and mother for numerous reasons, but mostly for the fact that she had to grow up without them. Because Meredith grew up without caring parents, this leads her to believe that almost all people are uncaring and unhappy like herself. This is why Meredith creates a strong bond with Cristina Yang.

Cristina Yang

Cristina rarely shows emotions. Why is that? Is it because she has a steel heart? Is it because Cristina puts her career first? One of the only times I've seen Cristina show emotion is after Burke walked out during their wedding. I haven't seen her show emotion since then. Cristina puts her thoughts into her career.
