Clean Out Those Medicine Cabinets!

A clean medicine cabinet is beneficial to anybody. Expired medicine is not only ineffective, but downright dangerous. It is important to run some random "clean sweeps" (you can even consider it as your own spring cleaning!) of those neglected cabinets, check the expiration dates on the containers, and ones that are close to or past the expiration date should be disposed of in a safe and orderly manner (usually involving wrapping them in something like tin foil and stowing them deep into the trash can so children or animals are unable to get into them).

Spring in particular is a great season to go through those cabinets and get them clean and spiffy. Spring is the season of the flu, of allergies, and of bad coughs. During this season, that medicine gets more important than ever. But what if you bought it for last spring? All of a sudden, not only will that medicine not help you but it can hurt you as well. Go through those old cabinets! Clean out that expired medicine and buy new medicine, for your sake!

Here is what you will want to throw away:

Expired medicines - Expired medicine is both dangerous and ineffective. There is no usefulness in keeping it.

Empty bottles - You will be surprised as to how many empty or nearly empty bottles you will find. Throw them away and buy a full one to keep you chugging through the long spring season.

Improperly stored medicine - Medicine which hasn't been sealed or stored in the proper conditions can cause parts to evaporate or to alter which can cause them to be dangerous. Check for this and dispose of these potentially harmful medications.

Duplicates - If you have ten containers of the same medicine, throw some of them away! Especially if you don't use the medicine very often, the medicine containers will only create a mess and will be in the way.
