Monrovia Fall Festival
Fall Again so Soon

Every year in the second week of September, in the small town of Monrovia, Indiana we have our Fall Festival. The town only has around 500 people and I don't know how many live in the country just on the outskirts. This is a small farm town just off of the interstate. There are so many things to see and do in our area. On Friday and Saturday nights they are so crowded it takes you a half hour just to cover the less than half mile Main Street of Monrovia. They also have the oldest tractor to the newest on the site to see. Friday nights they have a tractor pull to see who the best is. Well to me all tractors are the best. But you no men they have to compete in everything. Saturday afternoon they have the kid's race on small tractors and they are each given a trophy just for entering. I love to go on a Friday night just to get the special rib eye sandwich, and even a funnel cake or an elephant ear, so yummy. Don't forget to get a lemon shake up they will quench your thirst. Just the smells that you inhale are so full of aromas they make you think you are at the State Fair. You really would like to sample it all but you dare not. They all smell so delicious and very tempting. While you walk around and visit all the venders and the different stands they have things for sale some people made or booths that just have raffles for you to enter. On Saturday go over to the High School's parking lot, they have the old classic car show; this is very interesting to see because we love the collectible and antique classic cars. My favorites are the Mustangs and the 57 Chevy's and also the 64 Chevy's and the 55 Chevy's.. I could take them all if they would let me. There is so much to do in these 3 days, fun, even door prizes, and games and contests, and so much food. They also have a yearly art display of the local artists of all ages. They even have a poetry contest, which they would divide into the different age groups.
