Writing poetry can be a wonderful experience. It allows for one to privately (or publicly if you wish) express feelings. It can also be sued as a type of therapy. Besides helping yourself understand your on feelings, poems help others see and understand how you feel.

Poems can take on any mood or emotion. The most common of gift poems are love poems. What better day of the year to express your love through a poem than Valentine's Day. Writing a poem for your Valentine is a wonderful way to show your true feelings. It a very thoughtful and inexpensive gift. Most women go crazy over men who are not afraid to express their feelings through writing a poem.

I write poems for all different occasions. The first step to writing a poem is to have a feeling and act upon it. For most Valentine's Day poems, the feeling will be good, heartwarming, and special. However, in some cases one may not be feeling that much love this Valentine's Day. In that case, a poem of anger or sadness would be acceptable.

In this article I would like to share a few of my original poems. Some of them were created based upon my own true feelings and others were based on feelings that I created. By this I mean I place myself into certain situations and imagine how I would feel even though I am not currently in that position in life.

Where are You my Valentine?

I have looked the world over,

And am yet to find,

The man of my dreams,

That special one of a kind.

I dream of red roses,

And chocolates smooth and dark,

Late nights by the fire,

And long walks in the park.

I pray if you are out there tonight,

With the same feelings as mine,

God will send you to me,

To be my special Valentine.

Forever Valentine

Years have gone by.

Many days have passed,

Since the first time we touched,

And created a love meant to last.

That first Valentine's Day,

You held me so tight.

It became only the first,

Of many special Valentine's Day nights.

Valentine, Marry Me

Will you be my Valentine?

My love is so true.

Will you be my Sweetheart?

I love the things that you do.

Will you be my special love?

And keep me forever by your side.

Will you please my darling,

Be my beautiful bride?
