Canada's Guinness Book Record Holders

Ever since I have been a young boy I have loved the Guinness Book of World Records. Come on, who does not love this book? It's full of fun facts and unique records people have accomplished and beaten, making it a great little piece of world literature. Anyways it got me thinking the other day how many Canadians or unique records Canadians have beaten to get into the famous book. With that said, here's 15 of Canada's Guinness Book World Record holders. Enjoy!

Largest Coin:
In late April early May of 2007, the Royal Canadian Mint issued the world's largest gold coin with a face value of $1 million. The million dollar coin weighs 220 pounds and is roughly the size of a 20 inch motorcycle tire. The coin is 99.999 percent pure gold is about an inch thick. Canada got a place in Guinness Book of World Records thanks to this mammoth chunk of gold.

Largest Smoothie:
On July 27, 2006 franchise company Booster Juice broke the worlds record for the largest smoothie. The huge drink had 740 liters of fruit juice in it beating out the old record of 333 liters.

Fire Walker:
On June 15th, 2005 Amanda Dennison set the world record for longest fire walk with a distance of 220 feet in coals that were heated to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,600 to 1,800 degrees.

Bell Ringer:
On September 5, 2005 in Abbotsford British Columbia, Canadian Joe Defries got into the Guinness Book of World Records by constantly ringing a hand bell for 28 hours and 50 minutes. For more on this record holder visit http://www.possibells.com

Youngest DJ:
Now age 20, Cody Morton had gotten into the Guinness Book of World Records at the age of 16 for being a radio DJ from the age of 10.

Most Compulsive Swallower:
Here's a weird record I came across while researching this article. Couldn't find the name of this person but according to the Guinness Book in 1927, a Canadian woman got the record for being the most compulsive swallower. The woman had over 2,533 objects removed from her stomach, and 947 pins on top of that.

Fastest Talker:
In 1995, Sean Shannon became a Guinness Book World Record holder after he recited "Hamlets" work "To Be Or Not To Be" (260 Words) in a mind boggling 23.8 seconds.
