The 50th Anniversary of Legos: It's Been that Long?

Growing up with Legos, it's really hard to imagine that it has been 50 years since this product was first created. I remember the first time I really started playing with Lego's when I was in kindergarten. During that time they did not have all of the various Lego sets that they have now,

but they still had some really cool ones. I even remember being able to build your own Lego city which was another set that you could purchase. Then there was the Duplo Brick sets which were a lot of fun to play with as well. Another one of my favorites is the Lego train sets. I remember my sister having it when it first came out, and now they have definitely upgraded them a lot.

One of my favorite Lego sets was the original Lego bricks that came with the building plate. These were Lego pieces of various colors that you could use to make just about anything. It was and still is a very versatile toy. Now there are a lot more Lego sets that you can purchase, and I love buying various lego sets for my children and helping them to put them together as well. I think that when you compare the Lego toys with other toys Lego will always come out on top. It really makes you use your imagination and it is not a toy just for boys or just for girls.

The best part was that once you build something the pieces did not easily break and come apart. This is one product that definitely is very durable. Most toys will not last more than a year, but Legos can last a lifetime. I know because most of the Legos that I had when I was a child I was able to give to my kids to play with. Of course, I was not that rough on them, but they still held up really well. I think that it is really neat that the new bricks they make today can still fit the older bricks. One thing to point out is that if your children want to start a Lego collection of their own you should really make sure that they have a place to store them. A huge toy box dedicated just to your Lego's would rally be a great idea.
