lurks beneath its exterior facade that many of its own citizens are unaware of.

A recent issue of the Seminole Chronicle in Oviedo, Florida has left many outraged in Florida and across this nation. The article that was published in the Seminole Chronicle charged in a Jauary viewpoint piece that the United American Committee was racist against Muslims. It further stated that Hamas a known terrorist group listed as such by the United States government was a "political party like it or not. " Well many people did not like it and spoke their opinions concerning this issue. The United American Committee protested the Muslim Day camp at Wekiwa Springs due to the groups that were involved in organizing the events.

Upon some research on the United American Committee by means of their website we find that The United American Committee is a nation wide group with a branch office located in central Florida. They are actively involved in national and local issues that could infringe upon the rights of American Citizens. They invite people of all races and backgrounds to join with them. The group boasts a wide array of diversity within their group that includes Whites, Asians, Native Americans, Hispanics, African Americans and both Jews and Muslims. They not only welcome Muslims who are against terrorism but have many who stand beside them at demonstrations to object to extremism and terrorism across the world.

The chairman of the Central Florida United American Committee Alan Kornman states that "Our goal is the unity of all Americans, against the threats of Islamic extremism which face our nation and a goal of ensuring a secure future for America. We will accomplish our goals set forth through the following actions: Educate our society on the nature of our enemies. Inform the American people on issues which must be resolved."
