Before I talk about the characters of the people who have been born in the year of the Monkey, I want to mention the famous ¡§Monkey King¡¨ first. ¡§Journey To The West¡¨ is one of the four famous Chinese novels. Monkey King is the main character in this book, which describes how the Monkey King defies and overcomes the unjust and irrational authorities. Also, it shows how the Monkey King defeats the evil spirits and ghosts, so his teacher and three friends including himself can successfully finish the journey to the West, and in the same time peace can come back to the people on the earth once again. All people in China love monkeys.

2016 will be the year of the Monkey. These years are the year of the Monkey: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028, I do not know the date for the New Year¡¦s Day for the year of the Monkey yet, but it is between Jan. 21 to Feb.19 on the Western calendar. Not every New Year¡¦s Day is on the same date.

It said that the character of the person who is born in the year of the Monkey is very intelligent, creative, artistic, clever, wise, active, influential, romantic, enthusiastic, but easily discouraged and confused. The ¡§Monkey people¡¨ can get alone with people who are born in the year of the Dragon and the year of the Rat, but do not have good relationship with ¡§Tiger people¡¨.

This one is my favorite (of course), because I'm a Monkey! I love the drawings you did to go with this series.

My daughter is a monkey! She certianly acts like one, as you stated they do. I clicked through them all to find myself, my husband and my youngest. I just wanted to thank you for this fun information. The drawings are wonderful too!
