I have very fond memories of watching movies when I was growing up. Some of the best movie stars that ever lived were popular back then. I would like to share some of my favorites and some of their oh so special movies that I still to this day enjoy.

Charlton Heston-

If there's a person living that doesn't love Charlton Heston I haven't met them. He was not only drop dead gorgeous and sexy, but one of the most versatile actors that ever lived. I have to say he is one of my all time Favorites. Some of his movies that were among my favorites were The Ten Commandments, that's still a favorite of many. It is still played at Christmas and Easter every year. The Naked Jungle has to be where he was his most sexiest. I still fantasize about it. Major Benson, and Ben-Hur were top ones as well.

Clark Gable-

Those dimples would melt the heart of any woman. Of course my favorite movie of his was Gone With The Wind. I stop counting a long time ago, on how many times I have seen that one. Rhett Butler, I do give a damn. He was funny in Teacher's Pet, and wonderful in his last movie The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe. Oddly enough, it was the last movie before dying for Gable, Monroe and Montgomery Cliff. How weird is that?

Gary Cooper-

Oh, what a sweetheart. I adored him in Pride Of The Yankees, where he played legendary baseball player Lou Gehrig. One of my absolute favorites of his was Friendly Persuasion, where he played the father of a Quaker family. He was another versatile actor that could play just about any role.

James Stewart-

What a guy! They don't make them like that anymore. He was funny, touching, and boy could he act. My all time favorite movie to this day is It's A Wonderful Life. I watch it every year at Christmas, and other times of the year, just because. I applaude him in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, he showed such passion. One of his later movies which I really enjoyed was Flight Of The Phoenix.

John Wayne-

Good choices Hannah. I'm not old enough to know a lot of the "older" actors but fortunately I know all of these.

Good choices. Who doesn't love the Duke? I was never a huge Cooper fan myself but I suspect it is because I have not seen as many of his movies. I have always loved Heston, especially after seeing him in the Ten Commandments as a small child.

I don't know about sexy and all that, but these 5 (especially Chuck H) are especially important; they are REAL men, and not effeminate wusses, like most of what we have now (not men; just "male"!)

You're right--there's nothing like the classics and the hunks that starred in them. Add Cary Grant for me! And James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause.
