Why did Ted Kennedy choose Barack Obama? Bill Clinton was seen as playing the race card last week. And it was said that Ted Kennedy was displeased with this and gave Clinton a "call" to tell him to tone it down on race.
To outsiders, it looks like Bill and Hillary Clinton are being told by the democrat party how to campaign. Bill and Hillary Clinton are not known for letting other people direct their destinies. They are upsetting the applecart and Ted and Caroline Kennedy just tried to put them back in line.
Through the democrat debates and on the campaign trail, the media and democrat pundits have picked at every word uttered by the Clintons. Bill and Hillary Clinton cannot mention Barrack Obama's race, religion, "friends" or past "present" votes made by Obama. Everything is being criticized and the bad media looks like it is catching up with Hillary Clinton's numbers.
With the endorsements of Ted and Caroline Kennedy, Barack Obama gains even more credibility. Kennedy said that Barack would be "ready" to lead on day one, taking a page out of Hillary Clinton's playbook.
Hillary Clinton's campaign will now have to worry about losing out on some Hispanic votes. Ted Kennedy is revered throughout the Hispanic population and it is feared by Clinton supporters that Kennedy's endorsement will sway them to vote for Barack.
There have been other notable endorsements for Barack Obama. John Kerry and Janet Napolitano have both thrown their support behind Obama.
There are also more than 80 volunteer lawyers for the Guantanamo Bay prisoners that have endorsed Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton and Obama have similar views on Guantanomo Bay so it is not clear what the defining reason for their endorsing Obama is.
One interesting endorsement for Barack Obama comes from Toni Morrison, the author. She was the one who said President Bill Clinton was the first black president. Her endorsement surely stung the Clinton campaign.
