Dear Readers of AC - Greetings from Scotland UK

Many years ago some very intrepid people left the shores of Scotland to make better lives for themselves in a country now known as the United States of America. They endured months of hardship on ships teeming with people, with a combined belief that they could make a better life for themselves. On arrival they worked hard, pulled together until they could call the land they arrived on home. A home where dreams where made, and where hard work was rewarded by family values and friendship.

Today we have a modern version of that connection between Scotland and the USA and whilst we have not had to endure the suffering of our spirited forefathers our hard work has brought about friendship and connections between our countries.

My name is Shirley Jaffrey, a Scottish mum, wife, entrepreneur and the creator of Tattoo Aftercare® www.tattooaftercare.co.uk

Love them or hate them Tattooing is the 6th fastest growing industry this millennium and with many stars now showing their tattoos the increase per head of population in getting a tattoo is increasing and all tattoos require aftercare.

Seven years ago I went for a tattoo and was told by the Tattoo Artist to use a haemorrhoid cream on my skin to aid healing. Being a qualified nurse of thirteen years and a trained aromatherapist I thought this a harsh treatment so went home and blended some oils to help heal my skin. Four days later my skin was healed. Friends with tattoos were amazed as normally their tattooed skin took 7-21 days to heal and the skin would scab and be very itchy.

Intrigued, I started to wonder why there was no suitable aftercare available for a process that was happening to hundreds of people daily in towns and cities all over the country. I did some research and discovered there were no aftercare companies in the U.K. and that the only product some Tattoo studios could get access too was from the US. The Tattoo industry here the UK, in the US and most overseas countries seriously lacked choice of proper aftercares for the skin following the tattooing process.
