Words cannot express the excitement I felt when my fellow Content Producer Shirlene Alusa Brownshot me an email with the above news. It is truly a special moment to be a Writer and be recognized for my work. I write for the passion of stringing words together into a coherent story that makes a strong case. It is a skill that I use as a promotional marketer and in so many other facets of my life. So, if one asks me why I write - I'd simply respond that "I Love It!"

Funny, in the recent weeks, during the writers' strike and watching their effect on entire industries, I was reminded of how truly hard it is to find a wonderful scribe..... Someone who can take a pen and wield it with the command as a soldier would a sword. And when I think of the moments when my Mom and Dad insisted that I edit and re-edit, I now know why I have chosen this tagline "Because The Pen Is Still Mightier than the Sword," for my enterprise. So today and everyday, I congratulate all of the winners and scribes here on Associated Content and beyond. To each and every one of you I say, "Keep doing the Write Thing."

My arrival on Associated Content, began as my attempt at therapy, because of a general sense of malaise with the state of mainstream media, and a need to vent about the direction of the economy. I had grown tired of the same 'ole information being repeated day in and day out by the same pundits and wanted to find and perhaps introduce a fresh perspective about the world around me. I also came to AC looking for a way to remember my Father who was an avid writer and someone I had recently lost in October of 2006 (four days before my birthday). From AC, I was also searching for a way to turn my words into a renewed passion for living.

What I have found in this past year at AC is more than I expected and just what I needed! I have found an audience to listen to my ramblings, interviewed a number of celebrities ( bringing me back into my early writing career) and gotten some TREMENDOUS business opportunities. Most importantly however, I have made friends that I truly treasure and know that they would not have entered into my Life without AC.

Congratulations! It's definitely nice to be able to get on AC and practice our writing skills and get paid for it at the same time. If you're interested, I've conducted a broad survey to determine what criteria was used to select the top 1000. I've found the answer and published the results here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/582065/acs_top_1000_the_secret_criteria_revealed.html

I just noticed that I too was in the top 1000 Content Producers. While my writing style tends to sound more like an AP writer than your beautiful language, I really do appreciate all that you bring to our community. I started Associated Content as a part-time job during college. Now I use it for so much more. I like to be on top of the news and by doing the new "Calls for Content" I feel like I am able to keep abreast of the world and still write, which I agree, is a very therapeutic exercise. Thanks!

What an amazing person you are. You speech, ahhhh like a breath of fresh air. I can see you are an excellent writer, and I look forward to just learning from you. Being the amatuer writer that I am, slowly building confidence in myself that I can succeed at my passion and that is "Writing". Thanks for the jolt of wisdom.
