From a general election stand point the support of Rush Limbaugh and maybe some other radio hosts like Dan Savage and Michelle Malkin shouldn't mean squat in reality. The biggest complaint that is voiced against McCain on talk radio in recent years is the "comprehensive immigration package" that John McCain and Ted Kennedy were unable to pass as the main sponsors of the legislation in the United States Senate. It is very true in my estimation that illegal immigration is a very serious issue that needs to be dealt with, however if there was such a groundswell of anger against it Congressman Tom Tancredo should be carried to the White House. If there is an army of folks dead set against the nomination of a candidate that promoted what many view as an "amnesty" bill then they did not do a very good job of informing the electorate of McCain's views. So I think the gripe here that many bedrock conservatives have here is either an uninformed electorate or two the trump card of the "liberal media" working behind the scenes to put a positive spin on the McCain campaign in order to help their preferred candidate through the primary.

Excellent article, you pointed out most of the reasons why I couldn't support John McCain and won't be voting for him today (Oklahoma Primary). If he ends up with our party's nomination than I would be voting for him come November, but that is only because I cannot imagine our country in control of Hilary Rotten Clinton or Barack Obama.
