National Treasure II "Book of Secrets" should have been called The "President's" Book of Secrets. Which is mostly what the movie is based upon. Supposedly, the U.S. presidents for over 100 years have kept a "secret" diary hidden away in the Library of Congress, that tells the TRUE facts of historical American events such as the JFK and Lincoln assassination, Area 51, etc." Look for page 47" as told by the American president (Bruce Greenwood) in the movie.

And, the fact that the Gates family (Nicolas Cage and Jon Voight), are trying to clear their great grandfathers name regarding an incident which took place surrounding the so-called scandal and conspiracy of John Wilkes Booth. The man that assassinated president Lincoln. Be sure to watch and study the first 15 minutes of this movie or you will not understand what's going on through this entire sequel.

The movie begins when the actor John Wilkes Booth enters the back of president Lincoln's booth and shoots him in the back of the head at Ford's theater. Then jumps down off the balcony and yells his famous words on stage. At the same time, the Gates family great grandfather (also a cipher expert) is de-coding the message in a book, but realizes that this is a "Conspiracy" then tries to burn the book in the fire place beside him, without entire results.

Ed Harris (The Bad Guy) shows up during one of Ben Gates seminars and proclaims that the Gates family history is nothing but "Fraud" with evidence and proof. Naturally, Ben Gates is disturbed and upset regarding these allegations. Thus, begins his adventure to clear his great, great, grandfathers name and takes on his associate Riley and father to prove otherwise.

"A cute part" in this movie is when Riley (Ben's associate) has his Ferrari reposed by the IRS because his "fraudulent" accountant suggest that he should purchase an island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. The IRS claims that he owes 6 million dollar's worth of taxes on 5 million dollars because of interest and penalties!

National Treasure II Starring Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris & Jon Voight! Excellent Family Movie!

This saga will probably continoue forever! Same as "Star Wars & Indiana Jones"

I totally agree. This was a fun movie, and anything Nick is in, is going to be great. Although some of his films have been dark, he is always perfect for the role. Great piece!
