The OAC at Beale AFB, California, is at the recreational heart of the base. But being able to enjoy free entry to some of the local top attractions is great for volunteers who are on a tight budget such as young airmen.

Meet New People

Moving to a new base can leave many military personnel and their family members feeling very isolated and alone in the first few weeks and months. But if you choose to volunteer for the OAC, you will get to meet a lot of different people along the way. Social Life!

I spoke with one particular OAC volunteer, who also happens to be an airmen stationed at Beale AFB. She said that if it wasn't for the OAC, she would have no social life. In return for driving people to their destination and back to the base again, she enjoyed free entry to every trip she attended, the chance to see a lot of great attractions and sites, and she also got to enjoy a very active social life.
