I know you rarely see a proud American such as myself openly endorsing Hugo Chavez. but I do. And so should you. I know the corporate controlled mass media in America has saturated the airways with misinformation about Venezuela and Hugo Chavez but you have to put this out of your mind in order to see the truth about what happened in Venezuela. President Chavez is a socialist by his own admission but is this so terrible? I know when you hear the word socialist it conjures up images of some totalitarian state where freedom is denied and everyone blindly obeys an all powerful dictatorship. Why do you think that when you hear the term socialist? Because you have been conditioned too from the corporate controlled government and the corporate dominated media. So it is no surprise that you may have a misguided view of Hugo Chavez and his new Venezuelan reforms and may dismiss it as another oppressive regime trying to seize power. But his view is just simple minded and downright wrong especially when you take into account the history of the Venezuelan revolution.

Thats because America is an empire that is in rapid decline............and when empires fall from within, war is the result. America is n debt up to its eyeballs and now the debts are being called it.... so it borrows more. America put simply is the greatest military machine in the history of the world.........................AND IT HAS BAD CREDIT. Those 2 together equals war.

Richard, I agree with you. And actually the USA isn't a true democracy anyway. It's becoming more and more like a totalitarian state with Presidents stealing elections, ignoring the voters, randomly bombing other countries, and has now become one of the most hated countries in the world. Very sad.

I do not believe that would happen here because unlike other countries where communism was tried..............America has one very special thing "A constitution with a bill of rights" there are ways of checking the powers of government. I believe that communism done here in America would be the greatest success of humanity. More often then not the so called "socialist" governments of the past were anything but that and pretty much tainted the name.............take North Korea for instance..........I hate it when they are called socialist and I would shoot kim jong ill right now if I could because I know he is just a power hungry dictator and unfortunately socialism is often hijacked by said personalities because there are no systems set up to check such power unlike here in America.

I take it you have never lived for an extended period of time in a comunist or socialist country. Well I did. and while yougoslavia was considerable step up from Romania. There is no real comparison to the US of A. Why is it that people who wish for a socialist government but have never really experienced that life, would think that it's always greener on the other side. You have no clue what your wishing for. We did all we could to escape socialism (and it is totalitarian, I really don't care whether you believe it or not.) now 40 yrs later it's catching up with me here. Do you own a house or condo? Now imagine chavez or one of his goons knocking on your door. Tovarich, this house is now nationalized. You wish to live here you must pay rent, oh and by the way, you are single with 2 bedrooms. Tomorow there will be a family moving in to the other bedroom. Oh yeah, "viva chavez". You can have him. I have a 100 nightmare stories for you.
