There is more to Halloween than Trick or Treat. Many private and public organizations In New York City have special family Halloween Events. There are haunted houses, spooky stories, pumpkin hunts, parades, fortune tellers and much more. These events take place in all five Boroughs. This is just a sample of what is going on, but they are some of the best. You might want to contact your local park to see if they have any special events, also check your local restaurants to see if they have any dinner specials. Whatever you choose to do, have a good time and don’t be afraid of the ghosts and long leg beasties you might encounter.

Manhattan, New York

Come to Greenwich Village Halloween night for the biggest, most outrageous fun time. This parade makes Mardi Gras look like a school picnic. Get there early to get a good place.

Staten Island, New York

The Greenbelt Conservatory

The Conservatory has five great Halloween events going on.
The first, The Halloween Craft Workshop, is on Saturday, October 14 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.. You must call for registration: 1-718-351-3450 This if for ages 8 and up.
The second is Scary Story Night, Friday, October 27 the event is free but you must call the above number to register. What is more Halloween than scary stories by a fireside?
The third, Creepy Critters Kids Event, is on Saturday, October 28 at 10 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.. This is an out door hiking event, so be sure everyone wears appropriate foot gear. Kids are invited to wear their costumes. Registration is required.
Number four is for the adults, It is Psychic Night in the Greenbelt held on Saturday, October 28 starting at 7PM Come in costume and have a session with a professional psychic while enjoying good food and spirits ( the kind that comes in a bottle) while listening to the music. Reservations are required.
Remember to call for reservations for all these events and check the web site for additional information and any fees.
