As you age, your priorities change. You slow down, and you learn to take it easier. You focus on being in the moment. That's what Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink" says to me.

In my humble opinion, Kenny Chesney hit it out of the park with his hit, "Don't Blink." This song emphasizes the need to live your life to the fullest, celebrate and appreciate your friends and family.

In the chorus he sings "Trust me friends, a hundred years goes faster than you think, Don't Blink." A movie with pictures of our grandkids and kids, weddings and trips is playing on our laptop. As I sit here writing Kenny sings "Don't Blink, just like that you're 6 years old and you take a nap, you wake up and you're twenty five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife." My youngest son's wedding pictures fade through the screen and I'm glad I was there that day to watch him marry and be a part of his life. Chesney is singing the modern day version of "Carpe Diem" (seize the day) with family and friends as the first priority, just as it should be.

Guitars clear and sweet as bells, a wailing steel and Kenny's voice "I turn on the evening news and an old man of 100 years is being interviewed." His advice, "Don't Blink." So for me Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink" means holding the time with your kids, your wife and your family dear. You get a lot more out of life that way and when you get older you can sit at your desk, watching a movie and be thankful and glad you were there in the moment and you didn't blink!

Did You Know?
I made a movie on our computer for my wife with this song for our 21st wedding anniversary
