Need a Last Minute Pot Luck Party Idea?

Here Are Two Great Recipes

The other weekend mom and I had a Pig Roast to attend and needed to come up with something clever and easy to mix up and take along. It was going to turn out to be a last minute decision on whether we would actually be available to go and we didn’t want to make something before hand
and have to eat it ourselves if our plans changed. Which meant that I needed to come up with something that could be whipped up that morning before we headed out. So I put my cook mind in gear and came up with a chip dip and a cracker spread that both turned out to be party favorites. I made sure they would fit in disposable containers so we had nothing we had to bring back home and clean!

Taco-Chili Cheese Chip Dip

Ingredients Needed:
4 Cups Sour Cream
3 Cups Softened Cream Cheese
1/8 Cup Chili Seasoning
1/8 Cup Taco Seasoning
1 Cup Diced Black Olives
1 Whole Green Bell Pepper, Diced
1 Bag Tortilla Chips

Here comes the easy part, mix all of the above ingredients together and put them in a large butter container and put the lid on. Refrigerate until it is time to head to the Pot Luck. Serve with a bag of tortilla chips.

Blue Cheese and Salami Cracker Spread

Ingredients Needed:
1 ½ Cups Softened Cream Cheese
1 5oz. Jar of Kraft Blue-Cheese Cheese Spread
½ Cup Diced Hard Salami Sandwich Slices
1 Box Crackers

This one is just as easy as the first. You just mix up the above ingredients, and I put mine in one of my empty Sour Cream tubs from the Chip Dip recipe. Refrigerate until it is time to head out. Serve these tasty treat with your choice of crackers.

So next time you find yourself invited to a picnic, pig roast, or any other kind of party in which you need to bring a dish to pass just whip up one of these two fast and yummy treats and you’ll be sure to be the hit of the party! You can even throw your own twist on the creations, like adding a Red Bell Pepper instead of or with the Green. Maybe you aren’t a Blue Cheese or Salami person? Then pick up a different flavor of Kraft Cheese Spreads and a different type of meat. A great idea for that could be their Pineapple spread and Ham! Yum, I can’t wait to try that mixture myself!
