Brett Favre and the Comeback of an NFL Career

Down but Not Out in the Fourth Quarter

August 30, 2006 – Everybody seems to be discrediting Brett Favre and his decision to come back to the NFL. After his poor outing against the Cincinnati Bengals on a Monday Night Football game,
many analysts ridiculed Favre for not making great decisions. These comments were warranted, considering he threw a couple of picks and was seemingly picking up where he left off in 2005, which was playing poorly. However, it was a pre-season game, and people are tending to put too much emphasis on pre-season games. And they are doing that more this season than I have ever seen before.

I cannot believe u just compared a one hit wonder with one of the greatest of ALL time. Brett Favre and Kurt Warner have nothing in common except for the fact that they are both QB's.

I think he put out the doubt-fires in those who thought Brett could no longer throw the long ball-85 yd TD to Jennings 1st play from scrimmage V.Denver and a 60yd TD 1st play from scrimmage V.KC The guy is so awesome and he has now beaten all 31 NFL teams (joining Manning and Brady) who are that much younger than the guy-BUT he still has 3 MVP's and has never missed a game. I love Favre and I LOVE the Packers!!

Brett Favre is among the top 5 quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. If you disagree you simply do not know football. The guy is a winner, hes a 3 time league MVP, hes a 9 time pro bowler, he owns every record in the book(including int's i know, but also td's, soon yards, completions, wins, mvps, 30 td seasons, 3000 yard seasons, and after 17 years, he has over an 85.0 qb rating). His team is 3-0 and looking like the unstoppable Packers of the 1990's. If Favre goes deep this year, he should be the unanomous all-time #1 QB because of his greatness throughout such a long career. Noone has played as well, as long as this guy and his arm strength will be around for 5 more years.

Brett Favre = Babe Ruth of football. I respect the heck out of the guy, his canon arm is nothing short of scary, and he is also overrated. This guy (past and present) throws tons of passes, often in the 4th quarter, that he should not be throwing. He throws them because he is Brett Favre and who is going to tell him to not throw or even ride the pine? People, especially the media, love Brett Favre and do not get very upset with him when he throws interceptions. Brett Favre is one man and he has way too much pressure and expectations on him. Teams win games and for awhile the Packers have not been near a Superbowl caliber team (like when they had Reggie White). I think of Favre in much the way I think of Kurt warner. He is a great guy and a great player but appraised higher than his performance.
