Newborn Sock Cap Crochet Pattern

At last, my little experiment (or obsession) with designing a complete layette is complete. A frilly ruffled blanket, tie-front sweater, Mary Jane style booties ... and now the cap. I wanted it to continue the same girlie theme and incorporate the ribbons used in the sweater. What I came
up with is an open-top cap that cinches with a ribbon. It's too cute, and so easy to create you'll be able to whip up several for your favorite crochet charity in no time at all.

All example photos use Caron Simply Soft No Dye Lot yarn. This pattern is sized to fit a typical newborn, but it can be made smaller by using a G hook or baby weight yarn (Caron yarn is considered medium-weight). To make it larger, try using thicker yarn like worsted weight or a chunky yarn.

Hi, I'm looking for a pattern for a hat for a baby from newborn to 6 months. It needs to be done in single crochet so it is a very tight weave. I'm looking for nothing fancy, just a basic plain little beannie. If you could email me a pattern I would really appreciate it. My email address is SherryWolfe@dogpeoplerule.com Thanks so much God Bless Sherry
