The Changing Meta of the Naruto Trading Card Game

The eight expansion of the Naruto Trading Card game, Battle of Destiny, has really made an impact on the current meta of the game. Every element has gained something, but some more then others. Wind has really gotten a lot of attacking power, while many new jutsu pertain to certain ninja, like those of the sound ninja or in a specific clan.

In Battle of Destiny the Naruto TCG chronicles the betrayal of Sasuke Uchiha to the Hidden Leaf Village and the Sasuke retrieval team's efforts to bring him back. This set really focuses on the epic battles that took place during this time, like Rock Lee and Gaara taken on Kimmimaru, Temari and Shikamaru vs. Tayuya and of course the long awaited Naruto and Sasuke battle.

Wind decks get the biggest boost in this set with cards like Gaara turn 4 and the new super rare Rock Lee, Might Guy Platoon. Also Gaara gets an amazing onslaught of new powerful jutsu that will stop any deck dead in their tracks. The sand ninja prove strong in this expansion with new more powerful versions of Temari and Kankuro as well and a new puppet for them to control. Aside from the new sand ninja showing out for their element we also have a new Shino Aburami with a very nifty turn 1 ability!

Other elements also get a boost, like Earth, with their new assortment of jutsu that allow them to further manipulate the playing field, and Lightning continues to gain some really solid mission cards. One of the biggest changes from traditional sets is the fact that many of the jutsu featured in Battle of Destiny pertain to specific ninja. The new Chidori can only be used by Sasuke, and the same with the new Rasengan and Naruto. Also the Four Sound Ninja plus Kimmimaru get a wide variety of their own jutsu, making the game very theme oriented.
