The Super Bowl... not just a clash of modern Titans of brawn. At an average of $2.7 million for air time, it's also a clash of the Titans of advertising.

Here are the top ten advertisements from Super Bowl XLII. You can check out all of the Super Bowl commercials online at www.myspace.com/superbowlads/.

10. Timberlake's Pepsi Stuff
In the course of this celebrity-studded commercial, Justin Timberlake gets hit in the pills repeatedly. Err... That's really the only thing I liked about this commercial.

9. Balloon Battle
It's Underdog versus Family Guy's Stewie as two Thanksgiving parade-type balloons battle for a Coke. It's clever in an understated sort of way.

8. Spider Eats cricket - Career Builder
The world is a dangerous place for magical, Disney-esque cricket. But at least it stopped the singing.

7. Cars.com
"Err... you might want to step outside of the circle of fire... just to avoid any confusion."

6. Budlight Superpowers
Breathing fire, flying... these are some potential benefits of Budlight that were revoked due to the risks posed to drinkers. (These commercials are funny until you think about the real risks of drinking.)

5. Shaq the Jockey
Sobe Vitamin Water put out some of the best ads in this Super Bowl ad season. This one features a rather large jockey beating the odds. Look closely for the little boy picking his nose.

4. Unibrow Cashews
How is that this socially-awkward, unibrowed frump drives the boys nuts? Yowza!

3. Corrolla of Badgers
"Don't wake the baby" taken to extremes -- too much noise and mother badger will gnaw your face off. Err... guys... what are you doing with those cannons?

2. Fedex Pidgeons
You could save on shipping costs by breeding a race of giant carrier pidgeons... but is it really worth it?

And finally -- drumroll please -- the number one commercial from the 2008 Super Bowl is...

1. Doritos Mousetrap
Have you ever heard the phrase "building a better mousetrap"? This guy failed. Listen especially to the sound effects at the end. Hilarious!

Best part of the game is the commercials.

I'm currently in Garden Grove, CA :) It's night time, but I wanted to make sure I gave some PVs before settling down for the night!

With 97.5 million viewers, it works out to an average of less than 3 cents per person. That's actually cheap advertising.

I think the Mousetrap one was the winner of a contest for "regular people" to come up with a commercial. They actually gave a "created by" credit to him. :)

I thought that eyebrow one was offensive....like the one with the car engine in the bed...thanks

Some of them might be seen as an entire campaign. For example, those horrendous ones for the sales lead web site featuring mildly racist animated pandas.... obviously the spent their whole budget simply getting placement.

Yeah, I thought the mousetrap commercial was funny. However, I see all of the ads as being "one timers" - nothing to be the foundation of a campaign.
