There is a scam on the job-seeking market and you should know who the perpetrator is. E-Resume.us is that company. It came up in the search on the first page, the second spot for a "free resume builder". I followed all the prompts, noting how detailed this resume would be. It asked about experience in numerous fields of business, with dozens of questions about details of education, experience, and job interest. To the tune of 35 minutes building this "wonderful" resume and along the way they have a window that pops up and says they have 351 jobs that you fit the description for. The next screen tells you that your resume is now built. But to do anything with it; download it, print it, send it to someone- you must pay a minimum of $18.94. But they have just the right package for you, the Ultimate Jobseeker, for the low, low price of $87.95. Saving you $147.49. Wow, what a savings. You thought you were getting it for free, and now you are told that you don't get it for free, you build it for free.  THEN you pay.

They have a live chat, for help with your resume and job-recruiting endevour. I went on the chat and asked their representative why the deception. She said that building the resume is free...no one ever told you that you could actually have the resume you built. Awww, what was I thinking? I actually thought I could have the resume for free, not just fill in all the blanks for practice.

Takeaways
  • E-resume.us is a scam, they let you build it but not keep it.
  • There really are free resume bulders out there, just becareful.
  • How could we trust our career with a company that is dishonest from the start?
Did You Know?
Being dishonest on the web is pretty easy. Unless a freelance writer gets duped and decides to write about it!

Resume.us is a scam and be warned. No matter how good or bad your resume is. Be assured that they will milk you of your money and will not send out hardly any worth while responses for your job hunt. Their email reply is Hi. Not your name by the way and the whole thing is a shambles. It's too automated and they are just taking advantage of peoples needs to move on. They won't give refunds because they have felt that half the dozen temp agencies was enough. Go figure!

About ten years ago, I moved to a new location. Wanting and needing an updated resume, I contacted a local business that claimed to write both cover letters and resumes that would get attention and provide the "professional look" and "desired results" of a job seeker. With cover letter and resume in one hand and a paid invoice of $115 in the other hand, I was sure I had a winning combination. I eagerly had copies made of the documents on the finest grade of professionally accepted grey paper (ever check out how much it costs to purchase "specific" paper and matching envelopes)? Success, I had scheduled an interview with a placement company. They were a "top drawer" group with a highly regarded ranking of placements with well known organizations. I presented my grey envelope containing my cover letter and resume to the representative behind the impressive desk. She read the letter and without a blink, ripped the letter and resume in half! I sat there dumb-founded, what had
