Realistically, most of us are not going to be able to board a jet and take off for Paris, France to celebrate Valentine's Day, but there is nothing wrong with knowing where to go, in the event that you will be able to see "The City of Love" in the future. Heck, you might be one of those fortunate souls who actually can fly there to experience all the romantic things many of us can only dream about.

If you do get to go to Paris this year or ever, here are some places you may want to visit:

Hotels

You've got to stay somewhere, so why not do it in style and luxury? You can get top accommodations at Hotel Plaza Athenee, Hotel de Crillon, Hotel Meurice, Four Seasons George V Paris and Intercontinental Paris le Grand Hotel, just to name a few. Expect to spend a fat bunch of Eurodollars at any of these places and be sure to book months, even a year in advance in some of these places, because nearly everybody who can come to Paris wants to come on Valentine's Day

The Eiffel Tower

Every time you think of Paris, the first thing that will probably come to mind is the magnificent Eiffel Tower. The 300 m /984 foot tall metal structure has been around since 1889 and draws millions of visitors regularly. You can go to the top via stairs- if you're in really good shape- or by elevator, if you are doubtful about being able to make the climb by foot. It would simply be unforgivable to visit Paris without going here and no romantic holiday is complete without doing so.

The Champs-Elysees

Walk along the Champs-Elysees, one of the most famous streets in the world, and you can see many awe-inspiring places. One landmark you should make a point to see on this reknowned area is the Arc de Triomphe, which Napoleon Bonaparte ordered built in the early 19th century. So many movies have been made with this as a backdrop! Probably the best area along the Champs-Elysees to visit is between the Place de la Concorde and the Rond-Point, which isn't as populated and has more of a traditional feel than others areas that look more "commercial", due to modernization.
