Benjamin Moore is a leader in paint and design. So when they released their 21 trendy new paint colors for 2008, we better pay attention. I've said before that a coat of paint can re-decorate a room and make it look trendy and new. So take your cues from the Benjamin Moore hues!

Benjamin Moore separated their colors in four color groups. These groups are distinctly different and should not be mixed in one space. Read my reviews of each group and tips on how and where to use those colors.

Hot Colors
These three HOT interior paint colors should be used lightly as accent walls or in big rooms that can handle a lot of color. These three colors are vibrant and fun and will liven up any room. The blue, green and pink, respectively peacock feathers, split pea, and gypsy pink are fun twist on neon (don't worry, they aren't actually neon). These colors could brighten up a child's room, give your kitchen a Spanish feel or make your outside patio more festive. I would avoid these colors in a room where you want to relax, like your master suite. Just take some time to think it over before you use these extreme colors on your walls.

Modern Tranquil Colors
These six colors are just what they are titled, a modern version on tranquility. Most of these colors you would see naturally at a beach. The six colors are creamy versions of peach, green, pink, brown, blue, and lavender, respectively called Capri coast, green tint, latte, Litchfield gray, sidewalk gray, and wedding veil. If you want your house to feel like a modern relaxing beach house. To go with the beach feel, you would have furniture and flooring of similar colors and natural woods. If you want to add a relaxed sense to a room without the beach feel, use these paint colors with bold or modern furniture. I recommend these shades for a relaxing master bathroom. They would go perfect with a bubble bath!

All sound pretty and/or fun! I have to paint this week that I am on vacation. The twin's room and their older brothers.

Inside my house is all white - this is good info for me. I love the color names. I wonder sometimes who has to come up with all those new trendy names for colors. It took me a month to name my cat.

Thanks for this. I sure don't get why they start calling colors that are traditionally "cool colors" to things like "hot colors."
