Rubber Band Magic

The rubber band has so many uses, I am constantly using rubber bands almost on a daily basis. The best aspect for me is I am always able to find a rubber band around my house, usually on one of my door knobs. Everything in my life I either can't find or don't remember where I put it, but those rubber bands are a different story, they seem to always be handy. Here are some of my most frequent uses of rubber bands in my daily life:

Recipe Book Holder-Normally when I cook I will lay the recipe book on my counter next to my bowl or pan (whatever I may be using) and normally I am stirring or mixing something. It never fails, as I am trying to multi-task and read the recipe in the book and do my cooking, the page will flip over and I can't see my recipe plus my fingers will usually have dough or something on them so I can't touch the pages to flip it back. What I did to resolve this is to take two rubber bands and put one on each side of the book holding the pages down so that my book stays open and it is nearly impossible for the pages to flip or even move for that matter!

RIbbon Holder-You know the ribbon that people use for curling and wrapping presents? Well, that stuff is slippery as ice and it will constantly start rolling off the holder and before I know it, I have a pile of ribbon laying on the floor. I tried taping the end down with scotch tape and that worked okay except that sometimes the tape adhered so well to the ribbon, I would stand for what seemed like hours trying to pick the tape off the ribbon. What I finally did is take a rubber band and slip it around the ribbon container making sure the ribbon end was tucked under the rubber band and what do you know...it worked like magic! It took me about two seconds to get that rubber band off and there was no more picking tape for me!
