We Are All Rich - The False Assumption of Lack

I came home from having lunch at a little French bistro feeling very rich. The restaurant is small and tucked away in a building occupied mostly by medical offices and with people milling about with various degrees of ailments and impairments. Earlier in the morning I had gone to Mt. Sinai Medical to get a second opinion about the hip pain that has been nagging at me for over a year. This doctor concurred with the previous orthopedist that I needed a hip replacement. I was not pleased; I wanted to hear something else; I wanted to kick something, to cuss. I decided to treat myself to lunch instead; so I hobbled my way into this tiny bit of paradise.I was seated at a table covered with clean white linen with a setting of silver cutlery and a vase of fresh cut flowers; beautiful relaxing music played in the background. The waitress bustled about serving the many seemingly satisfied diners. A glass of cold water was brought to my table along with a basket of fresh baguette and cold butter. I ordered the jumbo shrimps in a lobster bisque sauce with a medley of steamed beans and carrots. While savoring every morsel of the beautifully presented and tasty meal I listened to an inspiring audio book on my new Zen Creative mp3 player which my dear spouse had given me for Christmas. It was a leisurely and pleasant meal.
At the end of the meal, I asked for the bill, took a look at the amount which came to $20 including tax and 15% tip, I reached into my purse retrieved a small piece of printed colored paper and place it in the black folder in which the bill had been delivered. I thanked the waitress and left for home. A satisfactory exchange was made. The weather outside was chilly and overcast and as I drove back home I decided it would be a great day to curl up with a good book. No worry, no stress, no guilt, no anxiety - the Infinite had provided for me all of this with very little effort or sacrifice on my part.
