National Signing Day is now upon us. The tumultuous college football season ended just a few weeks ago but things will begin heating up again with National Signing Day and spring practices on the horizon. As of 1:30 PM EST, Rivals.com has ranked Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, Oklahoma, and Georgia to the top five.

Let's breakdown National Signing day by looking closely at the following teams and the incoming recruits:

1. Alabama

Alabama's key signings include high school sensation Julio Jones, a five star wide receiver out of Foley, Alabama. The Crimson Tide also inked up Tyler Love, a five star offensive lineman from Mountain Brook, Alabama, and Burton Scott, a five star athlete from Prichard, Alabama. Nick Saban looks to build on the early season success of last year and the late bowl win to make the Crimson Tide a competitor in the SEC West. 'Bama now sporting the nation's top recruiting class heading into the afternoon looks in prime position to capture the SEC West next season with the projected down seasons of LSU and Auburn.

2. Notre Dame

Notre Dame coming off one of the worst seasons in the history of Fighting Irish football look to rebound heading into next season with a strong recruiting class. Charlie Weis, the former New England Patriots offensive mastermind, has been criticized by many for his lack of success at the college game. Notre Dame picked up a key commitment in Dayne Crist from Sherman Oaks, California. The five star quarterback passed for sixteen touchdowns and only one interception his senior season at his high school. Along with Crist the Irish picked up a target for him to throw to, Michael Floyd. The five star wide receiver stands in at six-foot-three and looks to be a big deep threat target for Notre Dame. Still on the offensive side of the ball the Irish picked up five star tight end, Kyle Rudolph from Cincinatti, Ohio. Rudolph is considered the best tight end in this recruiting class and played for high school football powerhouse, Elder in Ohio. Notre Dame's recruiting class is strong, but will it propel them to a bowl berth and potential win in 2008? Only time will answer that question.

3. Florida
