Add Personality Pizazz with Crafts for Your Wedding Tables
This article describes some craft projects that you can have on your dining tables at your wedding. It also describes how craft projects can be used to create a special relationship between the wedding couple and their guests.
During your wedding reception, guests spend an hour or two at the dining tables. Not all of that time is spent dining; much of it is spent in conversation with other guests. If you remember your guests and their interests during your planning, you will include conversation pieces at the
center of the table. If you are as lucky as I, you will find that many of your guests would be delighted to make you a creative addition to your table. My friends knew that my husband and I are birders and this provided a theme for their craft projects. My dad made miniature birdhouses and my mom decorated them. It really made the event special.
In general, table decorations should be low, no more than twelve inches tall or thin so that they do not block conversations. Tables should be positioned to allow free movement from table to table. Supplies on each table should include basic seasonings and extra napkins in case of spills. If children will attend the wedding, insure sources of fire like candles and sources of spills like floral decorations are placed well out of reach. At the conclusion of the wedding, plan to allow guests bring the centerpieces home as a memento of the event. A small booklet of the readings and or love poetry is a nice touch.
