Willie Nelson made an appearance on the Alex Jones radio show Monday, February 4. Known for his straight talk, Nelson confessed he never bought the official story about 9/11 and, from day one, was skeptical. "I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas - there's too much similarities between the two, and I saw a building fall that didn't get hit by nothing," Nelson said. WTC 7 is the building Nelson is referring to that "didn't get hit by nothing." The quintessential American hero also questioned the immediate blame and subsequent attack on Afghanistan following the attacks of 9/11. Since the official 9/11 story claimed most of the attackers to be Saudi Arabians, Nelson has always wondered why the U.S. didn't start asking questions pointed in that direction. In his colorful language, Nelson related America's consequent wrath and retaliation to a hypothetical situation such as himself getting hit by someone. "I look...around and see who did it before I start swinging at everybody in the room and that's kind of what we were doing."
Nelson also dismissed the 9/11 Commission's attempt at clearing up some of the controversy swirling around the official story, and the questions that labored its believability. The 9/11 Commission's impartiality and close ties to the White House were his main concerns/complaints.
Whether or not Nelson's statements will make a mainstream media splash, or go unnoticed, is uncertain. Alex Jones' popularity has become widespread, as he now hosts a daily radio show that is broadcast worldwide. Jones is also an accomplished documentary filmmaker, an author, and boisterous political activist. Both he and Nelson seem to pat each other on the back, apparent by their cheerful, mutual appreciative comments toward one another.
Legacy is releasing a four-CD, 100-song boxed set, called One Hell of a Ride, on April 1. This is the first Willie Nelson "treat" for fans in honor of the prolific artist's 75th birthday on April 30.
