According to Hollywood.com, Burke told TMZ.com that she checked herself into a psychiatric hospital to deal with her obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and hoarding behaviors: "We were thinking the mania hadn't been properly diagnosed. I have severe depression. I knew I had general anxiety and I knew I had problems with obsessive compulsion and the hoarding, which I really want to work on." TMZ.com also reports Burke told them she was on five different medications and that they just were not working for her.

Justin Chambers is another celebrity who checked himself into a psychiatric hospital. He is an actor who plays the role of Dr. Alex Karev on Grey's Anatomy, and hechecked himself into a psychiatric hospital in order to cope with his sleeping disorder, Canada.com reports. According to the story, he checked himself in on January 28th and left two days later on January 30th. Justin Chambers has also starred in the movies: The Wedding Planner, The Musketeer, Hysterical Blindness, Southern Belles, and The Zodiac and in the television shows New York Undercover and Another World.

Shelley Long is another actress who checked into a psychiatric hospital in 2006. Shelley Long has starred in several films including: Losin' It, A Small Circle of Friends, The Cracker Factory, Night Shift, Caveman, Outrageous Fortune, and Hello Again. She also played a role in the comedy television show Cheers. Long has also won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award during her acting career.

According to reports, Shelley Long has struggled with depression and it appears the reason she checked herself into a mental hospital in 2006 was to deal with her depression.
