I have always been fond of cute kiddie movies that involve monsters or ghosts. Even though they do not provide me with a huge scare, or cause nightmares, I have always been fond of how charming and fun some of these made for kids movies can be.

When I first caught a glimpse of The Ghost Club, I right away was brought back to my memory vault, and thoughts of The Monster Squad came into play. I figured The Ghost Club would be similar to that 80's flick, only The Ghost Club uses ghosts; not monsters.

What Is It About?

A family is about to loose their business to a large company. In order to save the family business though, they have to come up with $300,000 due to old taxes that went unpaid years ago.

The first ech moment. I couldn't see how old back taxes equaling $100 could manage to come out to $300,000 a few years later. I just think that whoever wrote this flick should of done a bit more research to make things believable.

Anyhow...moving on.

Chris and Carrie want to help their mom somehow get the money. While mom goes to the city to try and get a loan (instead of a lawyer for some odd reason) to pay off the $300,000, the children are sent to Grandmas house while she is gone.

The good news is, they each get to bring one friend. Carrie brings her diva friend, and Chris brings his nerdy friend.

While at Grandmas they learn about the woods, and how it is haunted. They also learn that the cabin in the back of Grandma's woods once was the home of the woman who died, and haunts the woods searching for a valuable bracelet she was going to give her daughter for her birthday. (She died on her daughters birthday).

The children all decide to capture the ghost and to find the bracelet to save the family business.

I won't give away the ending, but with any kid flick one doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Overall Thoughts:

Hideous! Absolutely hideous! The Ghost Club was probably one of the worst kid flicks I have ever sat through. During half of the movie I was trying to get over the horrible acting, and lame and pathetic dialog.
