Nu-Matix

Hailing from the islands of Germany (yes, there are such things as German islands) Manuel, Tim, Antimo, and Haye have catapulted from unknown rock band to one of Germany's most popular indie rock bands. Their hit songs, "Down," "Psycho," and "When There's No One" made record breaks in 2007 after Germany's "Rock in a Tent" superstar rock and roll extravaganza. Their fourth bombshell, "Surfersong," made waves on German national television when they were given the opportunity to play live for their fans across Europe. Nu-Matix also opened for Tokio Hotel on more than one occasion.

Nu-Matix's music is recommended for those not faint of heart - their favorite influences are Linkin Park and Jonathan Davis of Korn fame. However, their lyrics are much more sustaining and meaningful to the average listener, and promise not to be depressing as some of their influences tend to be at times. Nu-Matix brings a whole new crash to new metal you won't hear from any U.S. band.

The Motion Sick

The Motion Sick are one of the friendliest Beatlesque bands you've never heard of. Or maybe you have. Their songs, "Satellite" and "30 Lives" go to prove they're not "just another band outta Boston" even though they do cite Massachusetts' capital city as their hometown. They're quite active throughout New England, playing shows in cafes, clubs, inns, and lounges. And according to their show itinerary, The Motion Sick are planning to play SXSW (pronounced: South by Southwest, for non-indie readers) this coming March.

The Motion Sick's music will appeal to folks of all ages, but most likely to the high school student and undergrad - people with real appreciation for the undiscovered.

The Revs

Straight out of Ireland, The Revs have been one of my favorite indie bands since spring of 2007. And no, they're not playing accordions or bagpipes. These guys really know how to rock out. Following some of their best songs, "Broken," "Wired to the Moon,"and "Death of a DJ," some of The Revs' songs were reportedly featured in the motion picture "P.S., I Love You" starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank.
