On January 24, Jeffrey Herman filed a lawsuit against Epstein on behalf of "Jane Doe," a young woman who said that she was 14 when she gave Epstein a massage. This week, Herman filed a $50 million lawsuit on behalf of "Jane Doe No. 2," another young woman who said she was 16 when she went to see Epstein at his Palm Beach mansion.
Jeffrey Epstein and the Rich and Powerful
A Google search on the name "Jeffrey Epstein" brings up a wealth of information, but the various pieces of the Epstein puzzle don't fit together neatly. An August 14, 2006 Palm Beach Post article by Andrew Marra in the Palm Beach Post documents Jeffrey Epstein's humble beginnings as a math teacher who started his own investment firm, J. Epstein and Co., in the 1980's.
Epstein amassed a sizable fortune over the years and rubbed shoulders with the likes of former President Bill Clinton. His wealth allowed him to purchase residences in Manhattan and on El Brillo Way in Palm Beach.
Possible Sexual Abuse
Allegations of molestation began to surface in early 2005 after the mother of 14-year-old girl contacted police. College student Haley Robinson admitted she had taken girls between the ages of 14 to 16 to see Jeffrey Epstein and Robinson is quoted in the Palm Beach Post as telling detectives "I'm like a Heidi Fleiss," a reference to the infamous "Hollywood Madam" who provided beautiful women to the rich and famous for a price.
The Best Defense That Jeffrey Epstein Can Buy
In October 2007, ABC News reported that Epstein was charged in July 2006 of paying the underage girls to give him erotic massages, but his defense team, which includes Kenneth Starr, negotiated to keep him from registering as a sex offender.
