I take Zyrtec for my allergies. I take both the anithistamine, and the decongestant. I've probably been on them for around three years. I was buying the prescription versions of these pills.

These pills are not cheap. I was lucky to be able to be supplied with samples of the antihistamine for a long time. I did get samples of the decongestant, but there were more samples of the antihistamine to be had. This helped me out tremendously, and I was grateful for the samples that the nurse would give to me. I was also supplied with a nasal spray as samples too.

You can't beat receiving free prescription medication. The cost of being on these three was astronomical. It was to me.

The rules changed, and so did the easy access of a free sample. The policy now is, you can only get samples from your doctor at the time that you have an appointment with the doctor.

I don't have to see my doctor for follow up exams that often, so getting the samples were few and far between.
