After all of the hustle and bustle of the winter holidays were over I was very pleased to get my son's play area in our living room organized so that it could accommodate the new toys that he was given at Christmas time. One of which toy was the Little People Musical Christmas Train that is father found for him slightly after Christmas was over, and he didn't want to wait to give it to our son until December rolled around again and so he received a post Christmas gift that had a Christmas theme.

The Little People Musical Christmas Train itself is actually very cute. It comes with a train engine and two train cars that all hook together, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and a reindeer. Santa Claus sits in a compartment in the train engine. Behind him there is a train car that is for the reindeer equipped with an opening and closing gate that doubles up as steps for the reindeer to walk on as well as water and food. Bringing up the rear Mrs. Claus is in the last train car where she has an oven where she is making a batch of gingerbread cookies. Her oven has an opening and closing door displaying the little gingerbread men and her train car also has another peg for a guest to ride on the train too.

Clearly there is music that comes from the Little People Musical Christmas Train. When you push down on Santa's seat, with or without him sitting in it, on the train engine the train plays a Christmas carol. I never noticed before until I paid attention to specifically know what the toy played but the train only plays one song and that is Jingle Bells. Despite the repetition here I have not found that music to be annoying, like I said before I didn't even realize that it wasn't more than one Christmas carol.

The Little People Musical Christmas Train has a pull string and all of the train cars and engine snap together with ease making it is very easy for my son have it go throughout our home. Despite its specific time of year theme I've decided to keep the Little People Musical Christmas Train out. I certainly am always trying to encourage my son's imagination and by all means if he wants to imagine that it is Christmas time in his Little People world he most certainly should be able to.

We have this too - although I think it must be an older version as it doesn't play music (I think that's a good thing!). Interesting article!
