In the last year, the folks are Hershey's have been reinventing the wheel when it comes to their famous Kisses. We've seen Hershey Kisses filled with everything from truffle to mint, and in such odd or unusual flavors as Candy Corn. Now they've done it again with the New York Cheesecake Filled Hershey Kisses. Rumors have run rampant on the internet surrounding these little babies, mainly because they are a limited edition flavor. Hershey's hasn't done the best job of getting their limited edition foods in all markets, and the New York Cheesecake version is not exception. The New York Cheesecake Filled Hershey Kisses have previously been found in only certain parts of the country, and some reviewers are still eager to get their hands on these chocolate candies. Luckily I managed to try them for myself, and I'm still not to sure about them.
First of all, I will admit that these little candies were something of a mystery to me. When I first heard about the New York Cheesecake Filled Hershey Kisses, I missed the "filled" part. I assumed that they were similar to the Candy Corn variety, in that the entire candy had a cheesecake flavor. Imagine my surprise when I actually unwrapped one.
The New York Cheesecake Filled Hershey Kisses come in wrappers that remind me of the Hugs wrappers. Each one has a gold foil wrapper with tiny black stripes, and a little flag that proclaims "cheesecake". When you unwrap the Kiss, you find something that looks exactly like a regular Hershey Kiss. In fact, if I was in a hurry, I think I would pop one into my mouth without thinking and then wonder what the heck I was eating.
Since I knew I wanted to write about the New York Cheesecake Filled Hershey Kisses, I decided to take my time instead of popping one straight into my mouth like I usually would. Each Hershey Kiss has a small amount of cheesecake filling, topped with a slight chocolate shell.
