flashbacks based on the the other three rescue team members, we find out more about the mystery that is Lost on ABC.

Lost: Confirmed Dead

The title of Lost: Season 4, Episode 2, Confirmed Dead, may have purposefully mislead the audience to believe that more people on the island would die. Or maybe you thought Lost: Season 4, Episode 2 would confirm who was in the coffin. This is not what the title meant at all.

The Lost: Confirmed Dead flashbacks in the episode serve one purpose: to show that someone went to a lot of trouble to make it look like Oceanic Flight 815 crashed and is resting in the Sunda Trench off the coast of Bali. There is news footage of the plane, a newspaper report about the plane, and a radio report. The only thing missing was someone reading about it online.

In Season 4, Episode 2, We also see an undersea vessel, Christiane I, actually finding the plane wreck. The news is not the only thing that is fabricated. Someone actually put a plane in the water.

For those that believe Oceanic Flight 815 really did crash and the survivors are in some sort of after life or purgatory, then the discovery of the plane will only strengthen their theory.

Season 4, Episode 2: New Cast Members

Frank The Pilot in Lost: Confirmed Dead

Lost: Confirmed Dead was in reference to Oceanic Flight 815. In a recent flashback (sometime between this episode and the plane crash) we see a Frank (Jeff Fahey) watching a TV news report that the Oceanic Flight 815 plane was found, submerged in the ocean.

Frank is found by Jack, Kate, Daniel and Miles. It turns out that he was able to set the helicopter down safely.

Art brewer - interesting comment about Ecko but then that would make Miles either a time traveler or ageless.
