One of my favorite snack foods is nachos and salsa. Honestly, I could sit down and eat a whole bag of nachos by myself. Of course, I don't allow myself to do that, at least not often. Growing up, I remember salsa being something that came sealed in a glass jar and was found on the shelves of the supermarket near the taco making supplies. Over the years traditional salsas have been joined by so called gourmet salsas that are also packaged in glass jars. While the concept of gourmet salsa is great the reality is that most of the time the combinations are less than appetizing and the taste often leaves me wishing I had left the product on the shelf. I was satisfied with my mass marketed glass jar bottled salsa until one night when my husband brought home a container of fresh salsa. Yes, fresh salsa, from the supermarket. Packaged in a plastic container I was apprehensive about trying this product. There were no preservatives to keep the salsa fresh. I am glad that I gave this salsa a chance because now Garden Fresh Salsa is all I will buy.
Garden Fresh Salsa began as an operation ran out of the back of a small family restaurant in Michigan and today is one of the largest growing salsa manufacturers. A variety of interesting flavors are available in mild, medium, and hot. Some of the popular selections include Black Bean and Corn, Garlic and Green Olive, Wild Mild, Sweet Onion, and my personal favorite Artichoke Garlic.
What I like about these salsas is that you can taste the individual ingredients in each blend. The tomatoes are actually red and juicy. There is no thick sauce or puree used in these products. All the ingredients are fresh and free of artificial flavorings. Without the artificial flavorings and preservatives your don't have to feel guilty about eating this salsa.
