A tea party today has become a time for friends and family to get together and share a fun filled afternoon, it's no longer about just sipping warm drinks. Tea time usually occurs from mid to late afternoon with small sandwiches or light snacks being served, and of course, don't forget the best part, tea! Tea party games can add more fun and excitement to your get together. Think of games that will have all your members interacting, connecting and socializing. My daughter recently had a tea party with some of her friends and they played several games throughout the afternoon. Most of the kids didn't want to go home!

We started the tea party off with a Tea Party Taste Test game. I had bought several different flavors of tea and offered a small amount of each flavor to each girl. They each smelled and then tasted the tea. They loved this game! They all had a great time trying to guess what each flavor was. The girl that guessed the most flavors right was the winner. I had a small teacup/saucer set for the prize.

Another great game is the Teaspoon Race. For this game, separate the children into two groups. Give each group a spoon and place a sugar cube on it. Have a designated place where the child will run too and have them drop the sugar cube into a tea cup. They will then race back and pass the spoon to the next teammate, with somebody placing a sugar cube on the spoon, and having that person race the course. The team that fills the tea cup up with sugar cubes first wins the game. A great twist to this game for older children would be to have them carry the spoon in their mouth!

Tea Party Bingo is a great addition to any tea party, for adults or children alike. First you will need to made bingo cards. For a nice visual effect make the cards in the shape of a tea pot. I used different types of flavored teas on the bingo cards to fill the spaces. When a type of tea is called, look to see if you have it on your card, if you do mark it off. The person with a straight line will yell bingo, which means they have won. Also, you can play for a blackout, which requires your entire card to be marked. The first person with their card completely full wins. This is a fun game for all ages!
