With the upcoming NFL season just days away, now's the time to catch up on your football reading.  Here's a guide to 10 blogs about the NFL.

1. NFL Superbowl - There's a lot to be desired in the graphics department of this site, but it's kept up-to-date with NFL news. Updated numerous times a day, if you are on the go, this might be the blog for you. Short and to the point, yet still informative enough to warrant mention on this list.

2. 2006 NFL Betting Picks - Extra bucks burning a hole in your wallet? Take a gamble and visit this blog which features betting picks on NFL and NCAA College Football games. This blog also provides links to other betting sites.

3. Dave's Football Blog - While this is a general NFL-based football blog, there is some special attention paid to two teams in particular, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Carolina Panthers. The posts on this blog are pretty short, but they're notable because of the links they include.

4. Pigskin Bloggers - Pigskin Bloggers is a collection of highlights of NFL team's blogs. Basically, the guy who runs the blog, Jamie, takes the best of the best from around the league and puts them in one place for you. It's like one-stop shopping for all your football needs

5. The Tailgating Blog - This blog is dedicated to the practice of tailgating. According to Wikipedia, tailgating "can refer to the (often celebratory) practice of eating and socializing while perched on the open tailgate of a vehicle (though many people participate even if their vehicles do not have tailgates). Tailgating usually occurs in the parking lots at stadiums and arenas before, and occasionally after, sporting events." Tailgating is most popular at NFL games.
