Why spend money on a boring mouse pad, when you can easily create your own? This adorable pink paisley mouse pad is inexpensive to create and so much fun! This craft is also easy enough for children to complete with a bit of adult supervision.

For this project, you will need:

- Anna Griffin "Eliza Pink Paisley" Print Paper (found in stores and online at Paper Addict)

- Anna Griffin "Eliza Lime Paisley" Print Paper (found in stores and online at Paper Addict)

- 8 inch by 5 inch by ¼ inch thick piece of cardboard

- Delta CeramCoat Paint in Bubblegum Opaque

- Sponge brush

- Mod Podge or other decoupage medium

- Decorative edge scissors

- Popsicle stick

- Craft roller

- Heart shape stencil

- Pencil

- Acrylic finishing spray

- Newspaper

Due to the large amount of glues and paint involved in this project, it is recommended to first cover your workspace fully with newspaper. Begin by coating the entire piece of 8 inch by 5 inch by ¼ inch thick cardboard in Delta CeramCoat Paint in Bubblegum Opaque using the sponge brush. Let the paint dry for about a half hour before adding a second coat and allowing the cardboard to dry fully.

With decorative edge scissors, cut a piece of Anna Griffin "Eliza Pink Paisley" print paper into an 8 inch by 5 inch rectangle that fits over the piece of cardboard. With the sponge brush, add a generous amount of Mod Podge or other decoupage medium to the cardboard itself. Add an additional amount to the back of the pink paper. Secure the pink paper to the cardboard, and use a craft roller and popsicle stick to remove any bubbles. (Hint: Start in the middle and work your way to the edges for best results.)

Lay the Anna Griffin "Eliza Lime Paisley" print paper flat on your workspace. Using a pencil, trace the heart shape stencil onto the green paper. Cut out the heart shape using decorative edge scissors. Adhere the green heart shape to the mouse pad using decoupage glue. Smooth the paper using a popsicle stick or the craft roller. Add any additional details as desired with acrylic paint, or cut out and adhere other paper shapes. Let all glues dry overnight.
