This is a poem I wrote for my boyfriend who went to New Orleans and other places after Hurricane Katrina and Rita to help restore power in the area.

Slowly the days pass,
With worrying on my mind.
To know you are so far away,
Leaves me feeling trapped in time.
I wonder through my daily routine,
In anticipation of the night.
To hear your voice so close to me,
Yet knowing you are not within my sight.

I know your duty is for the people,
Lighting the path so they may see.
And it makes me proud to be a part,
If only through you it may be.
So please hurry about your business,
Don't tarry a moment longer.
As you face the dangers,
Our feelings can only grow stronger.

Hey, nice one Marsha; and heres to your boyfriend for choosing to do something for the good of others in times of need; his hard work and effort should not go unnoticed--that's very commendable work that he did. As always, 5 stars for you Marsha. *****
