In 2008 the Dodgers will celebrate their 50th Anniversary in Los Angeles. Even though there are some people in Brooklyn who still curse the name Walter O'Malley, the move to Los Angeles proved to be a success for the Dodgers. Walter O'Malley will even be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.

In their 50 years in Los Angeles, the Dodgers have won 5 World Championships and 9 national League Pennants. Here is look back at ten of the greatest moments in Los Angeles Dodgers history.

1) April 18, 1958 the Dodgers play there first home game in Los Angeles. After opening the 1958 season on the road in San Francisco and going 1 and 2 the Dodgers play there first game in Los Angeles at the LA Coliseum. More than 78,000 fans show up and see the Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-5. The winning pitcher is Carl Erskine and Dick Gray hit's a home run.

2) October 8, 1959 the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago White Sox and win the World Series. While playing in Brooklyn for over 70 years the Dodgers only won one World Championship. In takes them only two years to win there first in Los Angeles. The Dodgers beat the White Sox 4 game to 2 to win the title. Larry Sherry wins the World Series MVP by winning two games and saving two games.

3) October 6, 1963 the Los Angeles Dodgers sweep the New York Yankees to win the World Series. The Dodgers dominant their old rivals from New York allowing only 4 runs in the four game sweep. It is the only Dodger World Championship clinched at Dodger Stadium. Sandy Koufax wins the World Series MVP award going 2 and 0 with a 1.50 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

4) September 9, 1965 Sandy Koufax pitches perfect game. On a Thursday night in Los Angles Sandy Koufax pitches a perfect game against the Chicago Cubs. It is Sandy's fourth career no-hitter and the only perfect game in Dodgers history. Sandy Koufax strikeouts 14 during the game.
