Turn an ordinary wood coffee table into an elegant, feminine, vintage piece! This whitewashed tin coffee table project is inexpensive and easy to complete, and definitely has a Shabby Chic look when finished.

For this project, you will need:

- One plain wooden coffee table

- Three eight inch scroll tile tins (available online at Viking Wood Crafts)

- Sponge brush

- Delta CeramCoat Acrylic Paint in White Semi-Opaque

- Shallow dish

- Water

- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White

- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Ivory

- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Satin Simply Pink

- Kyrlon Spray Polyurethane Sealant

- Medium grit sandpaper

- Tack cloth or other soft cloth

- Hot glue gun and glue sticks

- Newspaper or drop cloth

Due to the use of paints and glues in this project, it is recommended that your work area be well ventilated and covered with a drop cloth or newspaper. (Outdoors also works best.)

Make sure your wooden coffee table is free from any prior paints and stains before beginning. (If it is not, a bit of paint stripper should do the trick.) Gently sand your table with medium grit sandpaper. Remove any excess dust from the wood by wiping it with a tack cloth or other soft cloth.

Spray the entire table with two coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Let the primer dry for about an half an hour. Holding the paint can twelve to fifteen inches from the table surface, spray a very light coat of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Satin Simply Pink onto the table. Let the paint dry for an hour.

Coat the entire table with Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Ivory. Let the paint dry for less than ten minutes, or until it is still very tacky. Lightly sand random areas of the table to that the light coat of pink paint barely shows through. (There is no particular pattern or area on how to do this. Sand more for a pinker tinge, or sand less for more of an ivory white table.) Spray the entire table with Kyrlon Spray Polyurethane Sealant and let it dry overnight.
